Locally called as ‘Wadi-e-Lolab’,Lolab Valley is  located at a distance of120 kms from Srinagar in Kupwara district and is appreciated for its fruit orchards, lake, springs and lush rice fields. Poets like to refer to Lolab as a true destination and as “land of love and beauty”. Lolab valley is 5km wide and 26 km long. Lolab is a combination of three valleys, Potnai valley, Brunai valley and Kalaroos valley. There are beautiful Nagmarg meadows, which separate Lolab from Bandipora district. Lolab valley is studded with natural beauty and warm, hospitable locals. Minus the throngs of tourists. This part of Kashmir is as virgin as it gets.

Lolab Valley claims of beautiful orchards and cultivated land. There are various trekking ways that traveler scan experience here. One of the most famous treks in the region is from Lolab Valley to Lake Wullar in Bandipore. The valley is a habitat for various species of native animals such as Himalayan Black Bear and Brown Bear, Ibex, Snow Leopard, Hangul, Markhor and Musk deer.

The absolute excellence of Lolab Valley imprints the tourists. Lolab Valley also has a few camping sites and tourist huts for the convenience of travellers at Sogam, Diver, Chandigam,Anderbug, Kalaroos and Lalpore. Camp sites can be located along Lolab Valley enroute from Patalnag to Kambrial and Magmarg to Drass Pass. There are aroundeleven lakes and ponds in the valley that are worth visiting. The ancient cavein Kalaroos in the forest of Madmadow attracts a lot of tourists. It is believed that the cave leads to Russia. Another beautiful stopover in Lolab Valley is the Lavnag spring at Anderbug, which is quite impressive.
